Frederick A. Jones, M.D.
Dr. Jones grew up in Aurora, Colorado, and received his B.S. and M.S. (radiological health sciences) degrees from Colorado State University in 1977 and 1978, respectively. He was employed by Commonwealth Edison Company as a health physicist at Dresden Nuclear Generating Station, Morris, Illinois, from 1978-1980. He then changed career paths graduating from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine in 1984. This was followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at The Cleveland Clinic, 1984-1988, and fellowship in cross-sectional-imaging at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, 1988-1989. He has been employed with Rocky Mountain Radiologists since 1989 and worked full-time at ELMC from 1989-1994, after which he moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He is a member of the staff at three northwest Colorado hospitals: Yampa Valley Medical Center (Steamboat Springs) and the Memorial Hospital (Craig, Co.) and has active licenses in Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and Iowa. Professional interests include body CT, musculoskeletal imaging, breast imaging, general diagnostics, and teleradiology.
He enjoys spending his free time with his four children and wife Sandra while participating in many of the outdoor activities available in the Steamboat Springs area.
