John (Trey) M. Gilbert, III, M.D.
Dr. Gilbert spent his early years in numerous places including Germany, Nebraska, Washington state, and Alabama before his father retired from the Air Force and moved the family to Six Mile, SC as he was entering high school. Dr. Gilbert attended Davidson College in Davidson, NC and majored in chemistry and German. He spent 13 months abroad in Germany his junior year and graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 1997. Following college, he attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta and subsequently completed an internship year at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver. He then moved back to Atlanta to complete his Diagnostic Radiology residency and Abdominal Imaging fellowship. Upon moving back to Atlanta, he promised himself that he would return to Denver to practice radiology when his training was complete. He met his future wife Jennifer in Atlanta who was also excited about the prospect of moving to Colorado. In 2007, Dr. Gilbert completed his fellowship and moved back to Denver to join RMR. His areas of specialization include abdominal imaging and PET/CT.
In his spare time, Dr. Gilbert enjoys skiing, hiking, cooking, photography, and music.
