Malaika C. Thompson, M.D.
Although she spent much of her youth abroad, Dr. Malaika Thompson has always considered Colorado home, as both of her parents are natives. She began her medical education in 1993 at the University of Colorado at Boulder where she graduated with a degree in Environmental Biology. In 2004, she received her medical degree from the University of Kansas, graduating in the top quarter of her class. After completing an internship at Exempla St. Joseph in Denver, she moved to Tampa, FL, for residency training at the University of South Florida. In June 2010, she completed fellowship training in Women’s Imaging at the University of Colorado. In 2010, Dr. Thompson joined Rocky Mountain Radiologists, and will be working primarily at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. Her areas of specialization include breast and body imaging.
In her spare time, Dr. Thompson enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, especially her son.
